- Application method makes a big difference for this product and it's an adjustment from your average cream moisturizer.
Here's what we suggest:

Apply tallow to a damp face/skin post-shower or (if face is dry) after cleansing, take a pea-sized amount of Balm and warm it up between your fingers -- add a drop of warm water if you still find it is too thick.

Once it is warmed and really like a 'very very soft, almost melting butter' consistency, apply to the face. Take a minute or two to massage it in. It should absorb within a few minutes -- leaving your skin moisturized and glowy but not greasy.
The uses of tallow are almost endless, but here’s a handful of ways it can be used:

What is the difference between the Tallow Balm and the Whipped Tallow?
The products have the same ingredients, but the Whipped tallow is whipped so is much lighter and airier. This makes it easier to spread over larger areas of skin and more like a cream texture than a Balm. The Tallow Balm is more concentrated and denser so better for longer term use and smaller areas (like the face). A little goes a long way!How should I incorporate tallow into my skincare routine?

Can tallow be used on the face and body?

The Tallow Balm is much denser and more concentrated than our Whipped Tallow. This means it lasts longer and is more ideal for smaller areas of the body (like the face). The Whipped Tallow is airier and so can work better for spreading over larger areas or over very sensitive skin.
Does Tallow have a strong odor?
Our Tallow Balm and Whipped Tallow is made from natural ingredients, and while it may have a mild natural scent due to its tallow base, it is generally not overpowering.
Can tallow be used in conjunction with other skincare products?
Yes, tallow can be integrated into your existing skincare routine. Apply it after serums and before sunscreen during the day or as the final step in your evening routine.
Can Tallow be worn with makeup?
Yep! Apply all your skincare products or just the tallow on its own and then give it some time to absorb before starting your makeup. If you like a glowy look, give it less time to absorb, and if that's not your thing, give it around 15 minutes before starting on makeup. It should give you a moisturizing base and help your makeup sit nicely on your skin and look fresh all day.
